What is your favorite death scene in a horror movie?

DAY OF THE DEAD - guy gets his head torn from his body.

CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD - guy gets drilled through the cheek.

HAUTE TENSION - guy who gets sawed in the car at the end, and the dresser decapitation scene.

just to name a few.

Scary movie moments has to include:

PSYCHO - Shower scene
HALLOWEEN - Michael gets up
FRIDAY THE 13TH - Meet Jason
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - So that's what they eat!
THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - Nailmarks on the well
ALIEN - Stomach scene
DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) - What's behind the elevator?
THE EXORCIST - the Exorcism at the end
JAWS - "We're going to need a bigger boat."
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1973) - Leatherface opens the door
WHEN A STRANGER CALLS - "The calls are coming from inside the house!"
THE SHINING - "Come play with us..."

And probably many more

Also there's the 2005 film you're most looking forward to poll. Of course, anyone who doesn't say GEORGE A. ROMERO'S LAND OF THE DEAD is just batshit crazy, if you ask me.

Oh, and favorite death scene? The double-whammy that opens SUSPIRIA probably.

scariest moments in horror:

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - dream sequence with freddy walking in the alley with his arms stretched out.

THE EXORCIST - the whole fucking film.

RINGU - something is crawling out of the tv set.

JUON: THE GRUDGE - someone's in bed with me.

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE - the last chase at the end.

POLTERGEIST - the scene with the little girl in front of the tv.

HAUTE TENSION - the bathroom scene at the gas station was pretty nerve-racking.

SUSPIRIA - the whole last part after she finds the hidden room.

other favorite death scenes:

OPERA - the first kill where the girl has to watch her boyfriend get stabbed, over, and over, and over. Also the gun and the peep-hole scene was awesome.

CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD - gut vomit scene.

DEEP RED - necklace caught in the elevator decapitation scene.

TWO EVIL EYES - the dream sequence with Harvey Keitel getting impaled through the ass. OUCH!

Ooooh, that's a good one! Used to use that a lot for my homemade music videos on my cable access show. Got in tons of trouble for it too.

That's a great one and probably the best moment of the entire Freddy movie series.

Actually, my favorite moment is when Nancy falls asleep in class and sees Tina beckoning her down the hallway, bloody body bag and all. The cherry on that sundae is the great "No running in the hallway" sting.

As for the SHINING kids, they fucked me up for years. Literally. I was so traumatized by that film as a child (overactive imagination you know) that I couldn't touch anything horror for a couple years.

Raven

or instead of scariest moment, most memorable moment (scenes that either grossed you out or you remember the most)
for me it would be:

Halloween 2 - michael walks through pane glass door.

Predator - spine and skull removeal scene

Return of the Living Dead 2 - hand gives the finger (lol the only thing i remeber in this film)

TCM - the bit where the guy opens the door and gets hit with a sledge hammer

Day of the Dead - the opening sequence

Aliens - "get away from her you bitch" battle

That is a good scene, especially with her friend being covered in the plastic bag.

The ghost kids from the shining was pretty scary, but the old ghost lady freaked me out when she started to climb out of the tub after old jack.

Another thing that scared me from back in the days was Zelda from PET CEMETARY. Man, she was fucked up!

memorable moments in horror:

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - all of the booby-traps that kicked Freddy's ass towards the end of the film.

EVIL DEAD 2 - Ash hooks up the chainsaw. Ash's hair turning white on the side of his head, cracked my ass up.

DAWN OF THE DEAD - the HARE KRISHNA zombie. Ken Foree's jumping front kick, on the roof, towards the end of the film.

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS - " The good news is your dates are here! The bad news is they're dead!
