DELTA FORCE COMMANDO
Directed by Pierluigi Ciriaci in 1987 & starring Brett Clark, Fred Williamson, Mark Gregory, Bo Svenson and Divana Brandao.
Turner (Clark) is on a mission of vengeance and not even an entire army is going to stop him! Terrorists have managed to sneak into a military facility and steal a nuclear bomb! During the robbery Turner’s pregnant wife is killed by machine gun fire at the hands of the sadistic leader of the infiltrators (Gregory). Beck (Williamson) is the jet pilot kidnapped by Turner and led into enemy territory. It’ll take their combined skills to survive in a hostile land where their enemies outnumber them a thousand to one! The Turner character is a real bastard throughout the entire movie, but it sure adds something to the numerous scenes of wholesale slaughter to see him that angry. Williamson is always a treat to watch and when it’s time to start cracking heads open he is definitely on top of his game! Watch out for the scene where Beck is tortured by having live electrical wires placed on his testicles… You’d be pissed off too! Mark Gregory fans will likely enjoy him here as a scar-faced mercenary with a real connection to his psychotic side! Lots of violence and bloodshed as people are cut down by gunfire, blown up by missiles, decimated by rockets fired from helicopters/jets, taken out by grenades, knives and so forth. This is another late eighties action script written by Dardano Sachetti so you know what you’re in for! Lots of explosions, a huge body count, and all of it under a liberal sprinkling of finely chopped cheddar! You can now enjoy Delta Force Commando uncut, widescreen, and in English language with Japanese subtitles.
JUST A DAMNED SOLDIER – Also Known As SOLDATO MALEDETTO
Directed by Ferdinando Baldi in 1988 & starring Peter Hooten, Mark Gregory and Christine Leigh.
A group of highly trained mercenaries breaks into a guarded base and steals a literal truckload of unrefined gold that they then give to friendly revolutionaries in exchange for good old-fashioned cash. The man in charge of the operation is moved beyond anger by this act of outright insult and is ready to use an entire army for revenge if necessary! As fate would have it the two men at odds have years of hatred between them already and there is only one possible outcome when they meet; somebody will have to die! Surrounding the story is ferocious non-stop action and pyrotechnics – all leading to a truly impressive body count! Mark Gregory is as cool as always and there is such an abundance of action that you rarely get a chance to catch your breath! Elio Polizzi’s score is so upbeat and lively that it’s nearly a contradiction to the massive amounts of carnage taking place on the screen. This very rare and highly entertaining movie is now available to you uncut, widescreen, and in English language with Japanese subtitles.
THE WILD TEAM – Also Known As SQUADRA SELVAGGIA – THUNDER SQUAD
Directed by Umberto Lenzi in 1985 & starring Antonio Sabato, Ivan Rassimov, Werner Pochath and Sal Borgese.
A vicious dictator has overthrown a president from a South American country, but the people want their leader back and will fight hard to regain lost freedom while making the exiled president a living symbol of that freedom. Just as a huge corporation (losing money because of the fighting) was about to intervene and finance the retaking of the government, it is learned that the president’s young child has been kidnapped in order to gain some leverage. The company takes action and hires a team of specialists to go in and save the boy so that they can return to the original plan and turn a profit. For these seasoned professionals retrieving a kid is no problem, however, when they are sold out in the interest of bigger business then The Wild Team must do what they do best in order to survive! This competent jungle/action/adventure from Lenzi features a cool story with several twists, solid action, great cinematography and a lively score from soundtrack master Stelvio Cipriani. Lots of familiar names and faces within cast and crew (far too many to list here) contribute to the overall entertainment value. You can now enjoy The Wild Team uncut, letterboxed, and in English language with Japanese subtitles.
TIGER JOE – Also Known As FUGA DALL’ARCHIPELAGO MALEDETTO
Directed by Antonio Margheriti & starring David Warbeck, Annie Belle, Tony King, Luciano Pigozzi, Rene Abadeza and Giancarlo Badessi.
David Warbeck rules as pilot Tiger Joe, an illegal gunrunner in Vietnam. On one of his last trips before retirement his plane is shot down where he hooks up Annie Belle, a humanitarian rebel. From there on out it is one adventure after another as Warbeck and gang run into a man eating tiger, a house full of deadly cobras, and troops of NVA wherever they turn! Lots of fighting and explosions ensue as Tiger Joe works with the resistance to get back to civilization! Joe’s flamboyant boss, fellow pilot Midnight (Tony King), and sidekick/mechanic Little Man (Luciano Pigozzi) come to his rescue, but they all soon find themselves deep in enemy territory helping a handful of refugees and children across the border and blowing up a bridge in the enemy stronghold Kwai style! Margheriti doesn't hold back on the action (with some scenes from his earlier classic The Last Hunter) as it builds at a neck-breaking pace until the explosive final! Now you can enjoy this Italian Vietnam War classic where friendship runs deep and the bloodshed runs deeper completely uncut and letterboxed in English Language with Japanese subtitles.
TORNADO
Directed by Antonio Margheriti & starring Giancarlo Prete, Luciano Pigozzi, Antonio Marsina, David Brass, Mike Monty and Edoardo Margheriti.
Sergeant Maggio of the Green Berets is on his fourth tour of duty in Vietnam and if anybody knows the score… It’s him! Watching his commanding officer use fellow soldiers as cannon fodder for the enemy to make himself look good to the politicians back at the Pentagon, Maggio strikes back! Unfortunately, this leads to his arrest. Taken prisoner, he gets his chance to run for the Cambodian border when his transport is attacked (train bombing courtesy of The Last Hunter). Now he must survive the odds, tough terrain, the VC and his own troops as they all hunt him down in a race to freedom or a one on one fight to the finish! Margheriti spices up the action with lots of downbeat and horrifying scenarios including children bombings, a pit full of rabid rodents and some serious slices of gore courtesy of Demons/Demons 2 make up artist Giacinto Bretti! Luciano Pigozzi is his usual likeable self as a rebellious reporter on Maggio's side and look for a great supporting part from Zombi 3's Mike Monty! Forget all those cut, fullscreen, or improperly widescreen prints at 1.85:1! Now you can enjoy Margheriti's Vietnam Classic completely uncut and letterboxed correctly at 2.35:1 in English Language with Japanese subtitles.
