Little Britain:

People in Britain do all manner of things for kicks - some lick stamps, others sit on chairs. This fellow, who calls himself Emily Howard, likes to dress up as a lady. Takes all sorts

It's so hard being the only gay in the village.

Hmmm. Hard to pin this down for me Unconscious.
I tend to catch bits of things I enjoy, which includes things like Little Britain, and Bo Selecta, but there's not too many things I watch religiously now.
In fact about the only series I do watch without fail is the original CSI.
Past favourites for me have included HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS, AMERICAN GOTHIC, TOTAL RECALL 2070, BUFFY, ANGEL, STAR TREK (up to but not including Enterprise).
I just don't find that much on TV that really grips me.
I think there's is an absolute lack of horror on TV too. As there has been for like, forever.
I'm sort of looking forward to DOCTOR WHO. I say "sort of" because I don't expect to be that wow'ed by it. I just think it's had it's time and it will be tough to pull off in the modern, and cynical, era we now live in.
Sure I used to love it as a kid, when it was helmed by the incomporable Tom Baker. But for me, they sucked the life out of it after him. Sylvester McCoy? Gah. No thank you.

I suppose one of my favorite shows is MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE 3000, which causes no small amount of controversy on most boards. While others lambast the show for ridiculing low-budget and exploitation films, I don't think it translates. I loved exploitation before MST3K and I loved them even more afterwards. It should be noted that the series' peak was its Comedy Central run.
Also am a huge fan of BUFFY and ANGEL. Didn't want to like either but got sucked into it and I totally get it. Humorous yet touching, action-packed yet dramatic, spooky yet off-beat. It packs more epic storytelling and raw emotion into single seasons than most successful shows did in their entire runs.
Classic shows I love - THE A-TEAM, FAMILY GUY, MIAMI VICE, PICKET FENCES, CHARLIE'S ANGELS
Right now, there's not much that floats my boat. I suppose my faves right now are ALIAS, LAW & ORDER: SVU and SIX FEET UNDER (which I have to see in its season sets since I don't get HBO and won't pay for it either).

I've never understood the many horror fans who had major objections to BUFFY (and ANGEL). Sure, I watched it initially and gave up on it. I expected a fully serious take on horror, and, particularly then, it wasn't.
But when I watched it later in the run it seemed, just better. I think I was more ready for it as I knew then what to expect, and that it had also imporved. Towards the middle point the humour is most definitely used as a counter point to the darkness. And it does not take away from the dark subject matter. The humour is often quite sharp anyway, we're not often talking light humour.
ANGEL I liked just about equally until the second last series. Having recently seen it I can understand what people were saying about how it had dropped off. So I still have the final series to see, but, with the direction it seemed to be heading, I don't think I'd miss it much anyway.
It was definitely a much better spinoff than I imagined it would be when it began though.
ALIAS is a series I missed when it started and I've not really seen a minute of it since. I've always meant to, but just have never really gotten round to it. I figure I'm probably really missing out on something too from what I've heard.

I'm finally starting to get the R1 DVD's... HBO's Oz. I just love it so much. It always got a bad slot on Channel 4 over here, so it caused no end of late nights, but damnit, I just couldn't wait until the next day to see an episode!
As for Little Britain, I've been a fan of the radio show since it started. I like it in the radio format a whole lot better though.
Nighty Nite was an insanely good comedy series. I can't wait for that to hit DVD. Best show, comedy or otherwise, to come from here last year. Insanely dark.
I'm a big fan of shows like Spaced, Big Train, and anything by the associated people (Kevin Eldon, Simon Pegg, etc.)
Star Trek has been consistently good. Well, maybe not Enterprise, but I never got to watch much, and when I've caught it recently I'e enjoyed it a lot. But what were they thinking with the theme!?!? TOS was classic, but NG was just amazing. DS9 and Voyager were both brilliant, but TNG was so far ahead of everything else.
I want to pick up Buffy sometime, because I never caught enough of that.
Peep Show, proberly wouldn't get mentioned if it wasn't on now, but it's great. One of the comic actors is also in The Smoking Room, which is another great comedy.
American Gothic was just so original. An amazing series.
The new classic 'toons like Family Guy and Futurama are stellar.
I love old sitcoms like Some Mothers Do Have 'em and Rising Damp. And loads more.
And I have a thing for My Family, funny show.
But above all, anything by Chris Morris tops the polls for best (modern) comedy/satire.
Despite this rambling, I dont watch much TV, and it's rare that I'll watch a TV series for any length of time.

BAND OF BROTHERS (http://www.hbo.com/band/landing/currahee.html), quite possibly the GREATEST television series of all time!
Current favs I'm buying on DVD include THE SOPRANOS, BABYLON 5, ALIAS (season 4 just started on tv last week), and LEXX.
Newer series I've seen and want to buy on DVD include THE SHIELD, OZ (prison... a man's true nightmare!), FARSCAPE, and CARNIVALE.
Other series I own on DVD (not including anime titles) include SAMURAI JACK, FIREFLY, ROUGHNECKS: STARSHIP TROOPERS CHRONICLES, and 24.
"Guilty Pleasure" tv series on DVD include CLEOPATRA 2525, "V", BUCK ROGERS, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, TRANSFORMERS BEAST WARS, and MORTAL KOMBAT: CONQUEST.
Series I'd LOVE to have on DVD that haven't come out yet include AMERICAN GOTHIC, THE ROAR (by the creators of American Gothic), WITCHBLADE, and the old WIZARDS AND WARRIORS.

Been meaning to write-up on this one at HE.
There have only been three episodes so far, but I am getting hooked on that new show, MEDIUM. It stars Patricia Arquette as a conflicted person who is just starting to understand her powers and how they can solve crimes. Very good show with some real chilling moments and an emphasis on how her powers effect her and her family.

Believe it or not, the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 2005 tv series playing on the Sci-Fi Channel is pretty decent even though Starbuck's a chick and the cylons look like regular humans. It's a damn depressing show too.
Check out the pilot movie (mini-series) that's already out on DVD.
