Hi mate!
It is indeed.
How you been keeping? Ain't seen you since I took my Sabbatical.

Looks like I need a poker site though as all of the traffic is for that rather than horror films

Hmmmm... B)

poker sites generally suck.. Horror is much more entertaining.

Big fan of the old hammer films me.. Chris Lee is my hero.. :D

you still playing?

JohnShaft

Nice to know you're one of the Horror Faithful mate!

And yes, Christopher Lee is the MAN!
Who didn't grow up on all those old Hammer films whose highlight was always Lee as Dracula. Great to see he's had a resurgence playing the omnipotent villain too, as Saruman in LOTR and Count Duku in Star Wars II. Think he was great in both films and as soon as I heard they'd casted him as Saruman I thought 'Yes!'. Perfect casting, and if he was dead no-one on earth could have played Saruman with the same veiled menace as the man himself.

As for my poker career yeah I'm still playing. Mixing it up mostly at 1/2 Ladbrokes and moreso UB's 1/2 and 2/4 Kill tables. Bit refreshed now after my long break but hell the bad beats still get to me!!

Great to see you on the board mate, and as a member no less!!
If after watching a film you get the insane notion of writing a review you know where to come to ;)

Regards, JS

Hmmm, bit of a tricky one.

You got a nun fetish perchance? :D

Nuns, the only film that immediately springs to mind is one that was on TV last night (though I ain't seen it for a while) Ken Russell's The Devils?
If it ain't that you've got me well and truly stumped, which admittedly ain't that hard!
C'mon then, put me out of my misery :)

Its from the last Hammer film made (as Hammer).

'To the Devil a Daughter'

Starring Chris Lee as a loony Cult leader and Natassja Kjinski as a pschopath brainwashed nun who finishes off the film by getting naked.

Worth every second :D

Ahhhh!

I do have a dim recollection of it, haven't seen it in an age. Said recollection pretty much amounts to remembering Natassja Kjinski getting her kit off :P

Talking of 70's Horror Starring the masterly Lee don't forget to catch Horror Classic 'Horror Express' on TV next Friday! With Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas thrown in to boot. What a cast!
The filmname rings a bell somehow...

Just went all in preflop with AA in a ladbrokes no limit room ($60) got called by KK and AK and the frickin kings made a flush.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Think its my turn to take a sabbatical..

Will watch out for the movie and promise not to bring any more sad b@stard bad beats to the forum ;)

GODAMMMM! That sucks mate.

That's the one reason why I've always tried to steer clear a little of no limit.
I lost tonight when a JJ 4 bet my AA preflop and flopped a J but at least at limit all they can do is hack pieces off you rather than get the killing blow. That beat of yours too, I mean like how many outs do they have left when the three of you have nearly all the A's and K's between you? Calculation wise that's like 85% in your favour against both of them.

How you find them Ladbrokes NL tables? I've only had one go there (targeting a real fish) but wondered if they were as strong as UB. I know the limit tables aren't, but I guess being European they should be stronger at NL/PL.

Sabbatical's though I'm not suprised. Poker is such a horror at times, I've never played anything that can put you through the ringer as much. How many other games can you thoroughly out-play and out-think an opponent and still lose?

And as for the Bad Beats stories, that one is worthy enough to be on a Horror site. I think we need a Poker Bad Beat site for therapy though!

Wow. Epic bump.

7-and-a-half years. For those that wondering if we're here to stay.

God we used to post some shit back then. Hah.
And I'm still taking bad beats, and Sabbaticals, from Poker.
